MY FIRST VIRAL VIDEO

For the uninitiated, Breaking Bad was a fantastically well-written and massively popular American neo-Western crime drama that aired on AMC from 2008 to 2013, spanning five amazing seasons.  It focuses on a beleaguered high-school Chemistry teacher who slowly spirals into a life of crime, and follows his character arc from meek-and-mild husband and father to drug lord and ruthless criminal mastermind.  When the series ended in 2013, I, like many, was left wanting more, despite a fitting resolution to the story.  So I went to work on a possible "alternative" story-line that might piggy-back onto Breaking Bad's popularity, before the masses moved on to the Next Big Thing on TV.

The result was Faking Bad.  Faking Bad took the original premise and flipped it on its head.  Here, Walter White is a put-upon teacher, deeply afflicted with mythomania, who decides the only way to achieve relevance is to create the fictitious persona of Heisenberg in an attempt to fool those around him that he is, in fact, a criminal mastermind.  The foil here is that nobody is fooled - not his son, not his students, and certainly not his DEA brother-in-law, and, despite every deliberate attempt to lay breadcrumbs suggesting he's a feared drug lord, the end result is simply that he's the butt of the joke, and nobody cares.   Check out all three episodes of Faking Bad below!

FAKING BAD: EPISODE 1

Bored with his simple life as a put-upon high school Chemistry teacher and a son who doesn't respect him, Walter White tries his hardest to convince the people around him that he is, in actuality, Heisenberg, a ruthless meth-cooking drug lord.  But to no avail.

Spoiler warning for those who haven't watched beyond Season 4.

FAKING BAD: EPISODE 2

In Part 2, Walter White continues his attempts to convince his peers he's a master meth cook, thereby winning the respect of his son, but Hank calls his bluff.  In the meantime, Walt Jr continues to be unimpressed.

Spoiler warning for those who haven't watched beyond Season 4.

FAKING BAD: EPISODE 3

In Part 3, Hank begins raising money for a DEA-funded prank-operation against Walt, while Walt's ongoing jaunts in his roving "meth lab" RV continue to irk his family.  After Walt refuses to abide by the rules of the Talking Pillow during an intervention, Hank decides it's time to put his plan into action, much to Walter Jr's delight.

Spoiler warning for those who haven't watched beyond Season 4.
